NJCL Convention: July 27 - August 2

In an unforgettable week at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, 20 BLS students and 5 sponsors (Magistrae Foley, Hausey, & Moguel et Magistri Bartoloma & Brownell) participated in fun activities ranging from the academics to creative contests and sports. As a testament to the ever growing enthusiasm and participation in BLSJCL, we were recognized as the largest JCL chapter in existence! BLSJCL students accumulated numerous awards; in Certamen, the Advanced Team for the second consecutive year won 1st place, the Intermediate Team won 6th place, and the Novice team won 3rd place.

Kickoff: Saturday, October 25

BLSJCL, with almost 90 people attending, went in 2 buses to Mount Greylock Regional High School in Western Massachusetts for an entire day. Trying out several of the things JCL has to offer, like Catapult contests, Certamen, and Hula Hoop, or attending workshops, everyone was able to find something to it a memorable experience. In addition, BLSJCL also won several awards for their Catapultae and Ballistae, which will count towards the MassJCL Janet Rajotte Trophy come May.

Classics Day: Friday, December 5

Over 80 BLS students attended this event, run by our very own Julia Pan (MassJCL 1st Vice President). During this event, students attended two educational sessions discussing classical topics like the Aeneid to medicine in the ancient world. After that, students enjoyed a nice lunch, before skits relating to this year's theme and mythology were presented by several schools. Boston Latin School's skit on the Avengers placed 2nd.

Midnight Masquerade: Saturday, March 21

Make sure to come, or you'll miss out on the dance, games, and Roman Murder Mystery!
